24 Hours in Fort Worth Wedding Anniversary Celebration

Last weekend Logan and I celebrated our third anniversary. I’m lucky to have married in 2020, because remembering how many years we’ve been married is very easy. We don’t get away much without Lenox so it was special to spend 24 hours in Fort Worth with just us.

We went to Fort Worth and stayed the night at the Drover Hotel. If you’ve been following my blog, you know that we are fans of the Drover Hotel. Last year we went for my birthday during Christmas time if you missed it you can read about it here: Fun Things to do at the Fort Worth Stockyards in December.

On our way to the hotel, we thought, ‘Why did we only book this for one night!?’. We were exhausted and almost skipped the concert, but here is what we did on our 24-hour anniversary celebration.

We checked in and got settled into the hotel. Then headed to the hotel restaurant for a snack.

After our snack of queso and guacamole, we headed back to our room for a rest. It was so nice to lay in bed with nothing to do! It was hard to not stay in bed and just order room service for the evening.

After we convinced ourselves to continue with our original plans, we headed to Istanbul Grill. I had the Branzino and Logan had the lamb shank.

To continue our 24 hours in Fort Worth we headed to the Dickies Arena for the Sam Smith concert.

Logan and I’s song is Latch. He liked the Disclosure version while I liked Sam Smith’s acoustic version when we first started dating. Logan took me to a Sam Smith concert the last time he was in Dallas 5 years ago! So he surprised me with tickets to Sam Smith when he planned our anniversary.

5 years has definitely made a difference for Sam Smith. He has truly embraced a more exotic side. His voice is still amazing and we were blessed with many songs we loved, but I was too tired to stay past 10 and we snuck out before he really amped up the theatrics.

Once we made it back to our cozy hotel room I treated my husband and myself to face masks for fun and relaxation. After this is didn’t take long for either of us to be in Z town!

The next morning we slept in, enjoyed long hot showers and room service!

We truly lingered and relaxed in our room till time to check out then headed to lunch!

Lunch was delicious but so miserably hot! Logan found a spot called Hookers. We thought they had indoor seating but it was basically a shed with fans. It was 105 degrees when we got our food. All I could eat was half my burger then I ordered a coke float to go!

The burger was delicious! Apparently, they grill their burger meat with sauteed onions in Oklahoma and Hookers did just that.

We also ordered an Indian taco. Logan used to eat these when he lived in Colorado so he was excited. It was also very good, just not something I wanted to eat while sweating outside. It was a great experience nonetheless, just wait to check out Hookers when it’s cooler outside.

And there you have it folks, our 24 hours in Fort Worth! It was quick and not so busy this time, but we hit a few good spots and got some much-needed r&r.
