I’m going to start a mini-series about my babyless Dallas lunches.
Tuesday and Thursday he goes to “school”. So this is Daddy and I’s opportunity to get out alone. If I’m not housecleaning or napping I’m typically begging Logan for a lunch date.
This week is about our trip to Hillstones. Where we used to frequent for a great Dallas lunch.
Hillstones takes reservations now. They didn’t before Covid. We have yet to make reservations but were asked when we checked in at the host stand.
We got lucky and found two bar seats so we decided to opt in.
If you have been to Hillstones you know the bar seats are competitive and you end up hanging around like a hungry seagull waiting for a snack.
I was late with the idea to start recording these babyless lunches so everything already has a bite taken out of it, but try to enjoy it anyway. I sure did!
We always start with their spinach artichoke dip. As you can see we love it! The salsa served with it is the freshest-tasting salsa I’ve ever had!
Their redfish is probably the best in Dallas – many may say the same about the ribs too, but I’m not the person to attest to that.
I swapped my coleslaw out for their kale salad. It’s SO good. Sometimes I get that as my entire meal.
My husband got the rack of ribs. He might say they are the best in Dallas. Regardless they are ridiculously tender.
Not pictured are the side of hickory sauce and their in-house made season salt. Both is a must for the fries.
Mid lunch we noticed a couple swirling around the bar.
When we slid our entire place settings down a seat so they could join the bar we became instant best friends.
We all know the struggle.
They were soon to be empty nesters and reminiscing about when their son was Lenox’s age as they filled us with hopes and dreams of our future with him.
It was a nice break for Logan and me before we headed home so I could rotate toys and pick up with the kiddo!
