And how we spent our 2 nights in Los Angeles
This part of our trip was a bit more personal because it was a quick 2 nights in Los Angeles spent with local friends. What you may be interested in, however, are these cool places to eat in LA that we did partake in.
It was a much slower pace than the beginning of our California trip in San Francisco as I knew the lack of sleep was upon me once I returned home. Still, we did indulge in delicious meals, stayed at a unique hotel and I even received a rare pampering facial.
We went straight to Logan’s best friend’s house. There we did laundry and relaxed. I lounged and worked on blog stuff while the boys caught up. The weather was so beautiful that we kept the backdoor open. During this time, there was a Jewish event or choir practice going on, at the nearby Kabbalah Centre, and we got to enjoy the music.
We decided to get ready and head to dinner from here.
And so begins my mini list of Cool Places to Eat in LA:
1. Bicyclette Bistro
We went to Bicyclette Bistro to kick off our cool places to eat in LA. It was small, classy and packed with all sorts of people; definitely a fun people-watching experience. Some patrons were so over the top you think they must be “someone”. More than likely they just wanted to be – but you never know.
After dinner, we checked into our artsy hotel The Pendry. The lobby was excellent and featured an Anthony James sculpture, which he calls Portals. This Portal never got old, we had to stop and admire it every time we passed.
I was quick to pass out and very slow to wake back up. The adventures were catching up to me, but our bougie 2 nights in Los Angeles enjoyed with friends were not over yet!
2. Beverly Hills Hotel – Polo Lounge
T picked us up and took us to the Beverly Hills Hotel. This was the most over the top of our cool places to eat in LA list. I’m mildly-to-hardly up to date on Hollywood and what “the stars” are up to. The boys had told me we were going here for brunch, but I hadn’t put the location together until we arrive and I saw the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel sign.
So of course I had to get a picture. The lobby of the hotel was gorgeous and so was the entire restaurant, The Polo Lounge. We didn’t ask for any certain space to sit and I’m telling you we got the best spot. Tucked away in the back room looking straight out to the beautiful patio we sat in a large circular booth.
We snacked on all the things…
Logan agreed I could use a little TLC. Therefore, I enjoyed myself for the afternoon at the Pendry Hotel spa getting a facial while the boys ran around doing whatever boys do.
3. Madeo Ristorante
They came back to get ready for dinner. We walked to Madeo Ristorante from our hotel and enjoyed dinner with more local friends. The view and vibes were beautiful. Lucky for me there was another mom and wife. She and I quickly became friends. Sharing all the stories of our pregnancy, birth, current life joys, and struggles.
It was a wonderful dinner with conversation flowing and lots of laughter. I didn’t take any picture’s here because I get awkward typically taking pictures around other people – rather than the ones that are used to it.
The food was delicious and the service was amazing. Our waiter kept telling us the kitchen would make us anything that we wanted if there was something not on the menu. We shared multiple appetizers including, meatballs, veal carpaccio, vegetable soup and salad. Logan and I split the seafood risotto.
The vibe was amazing. We sat outside with candles and lamps everywhere.
After dinner, I took a quick stroll down their tree-lamped pathway to get a look of the nearby public art “Dream Catcher”. Then was pleasantly surprised with the beautiful skyline view.
We went back to the hotel and hugged our friends bye and wished we’d seen each other sooner.
4. Merois
The hubs and I went upstairs to the rooftop bar of Wolg Gang Puck’s Restaurant Merois to enjoy one last night cap before we headed home back to mom and dad life. I enjoyed my go-to cocktail, the paper plane, as we took in the views and talked about what we would do when we come back and bring our son.
It’s funny how you escape your child and then depict what it’d be like having them around. However, there is no way we could have enjoyed these quick 2 nights with friends enjoying cool places to eat in LA, with him at this age. Maybe one day, but this time was for us and we reveled in every bit.
